This official record of the Second Continental Congress documented its early proceedings in 1775, including forming the army, appointing Washington, and drafting the Declaration of Causes and Necessity of Taking Up Arms. This 1776 London reprint shared these foundational revolutionary documents with readers on both sides of the Atlantic and details the colonies' shift from protest to war.
