-The Sandlot
Narrated by “new kid” Scotty Smalls, The Sandlot is at its heart a coming of age story. In the film, Smalls learns how to play baseball, who Babe Ruth is, and how to make s’mores. Smalls and the rest of the team face up to their fears of “the Beast” to recover a baseball owned by Smalls’s new stepfather and autographed by Babe Ruth. In the process, Smalls makes peace with his stepfather, and the team makes new friends in Mr. Mertle and Hercules. Now a cult favorite, The Sandlot continues to charm old and new audiences.
