-Blockade Billy
Best known for his works in the horror and thriller genres, Stephen King is also well known as a baseball fan. King can frequently be seen sitting behind home plate at Fenway Park during Boston Red Sox games. In this novella, King combines his love of baseball with his signature suspenseful storytelling. The story, as told by a retired player, is of a now forgotten catcher playing for a now defunct major league team, the New Jersey Titans, who has a terrible secret. While a work of fiction, King draws extensively on baseball history and more current baseball events to lend the work an air of authenticity.
