-Baseball Art from the Gladstone Collection
As baseball has fascinated repeated generations of Americans, so too has it inspired countless exhibitions at museums and libraries. In Spring 2001, the Lehigh Art Galleries curated and hosted exhibititions of baseball art from the collection of Millie and Bill (‘51) Gladstone, who served on the Board of Directors of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY. Much like the current exhibit, the Gladstone collection featured a diverse array of materials, including game tickets, equipment, jerseys, books, artwork, and other memorabilia. The Gladstone Collection examined many of the same topics on display in this exhibit, including women in baseball and the breaking of the color barrier.
