Worldcon
Worldcon, the annual convention of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS), was first held in 1939 and, after a hiatus during WWII, has been held continuously since 1946.
Worldcon moves around the globe every year—organized by a different volunteer organization each time.
While Worldcon has a strong emphasis on science fiction and fantasy literature (both professional and amateur), it has grown to include television, movies, animation, games and other popular media—bringing fans and creators together, regardless of genre or medium.
