The Game of Logic
Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland books provided the inspiration for Touchstone Theater’s Alice in Informationland production and this exhibit, but Carroll also published prolifically in the field of logic and mathematics. While this book was published under his literary pseudonym, Charles Dodgson worked as a lecturer in mathematics at Christ Church College at Oxford University for over twenty years. This work combines his literary interest in nonsensical games with his professional expertise in symbolic logic. By illustrating logic using visual diagrams, Dodgson gamifies concepts like propositions, syllogisms, and fallacies.
