This reference work provides detailed biographical information about cartographer Abraham Ortelius, as well as comprehensive bibliographic information about the many editions of his popular published atlases. It informed cataloging and analysis of Lehigh’s Latin, English, and French editions of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. The French edition was received as a bequest of alumnus Duncan Payne, class of 1963 in 2022.
