In the popular Spiderman movies (2002, 2004, 2007, 2012, 2014), a young man acquires superhuman powers after having been bitten by a spider exposed to radioactivity in a laboratory. Spiderman was originally created as a comic book character by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962.
