Journal of John James Audubon Made During his Trip to New Orleans in 1820-1821. Boston: The Club of Odd Volumes, 1929.

Journal of John James Audubon Made While Obtaining Subscriptions to his "Birds of America" 1840-1843. Boston: The Club of Odd Volumes, 1929.

Both volumes were edited by Howard Corning, and were "limited to two hundred and twenty-five copies." The two manuscript diaries, given to the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard, are thought to be all that survives of Audubon's personal accounts as the family destroyed all of Audubon's works not published. Covering periods twenty years apart, they provide readers with insight into Audubon's travels and quest for subscriptions.
