The Word Finder

Rodale-001.jpg

J.I. Rodale, founder of the Rodale Press, Rodale Institute, was one of the first non-academic to raise the public's awareness of benefits of organic gardening, eating and healthy living. One of his main interests was all aspects of linguistics that included producing dictionaries, theasuri, phrase finder and word finders. He kept copious notes, collected publications, cut newspaper articles, and organized them meticulously. On display here is one of his popular titles, The Word Finder, and some related publicity documents. Rodale Family donated the “Rodale Inc. Archives” to Lehigh Special Collections in 2018.
